The 37 cent sticker that saved me from mosquito bites in Bali

There are plenty of things to think about when you're packing for a tropical holiday but I've found a product that will be coming with me on every summer trip from now on.

I recently headed off to Bali for my honeymoon and knowing that the wet season is just around the corner, storms were expected most afternoons and, of course, that had me thinking about mozzies.

So, instead of just packing the usual Aeroguard, I went with something different this time – BuzzPatch Mosquito Patch Stickers – and even though they're meant for kids, I can't stop raving about them.

60 patches for $21.90

The little stickers are mosquito repellents and made with all natural, plant-based ingredients. They're non-toxic and DEET free and use an effective and safe essential oil combination.

Nothing drives me more mad than getting chomped by mozzies and dealing with that annoying itch all night, so I was pretty keen to give these a go.

The best part: you're not covered in a repellant spray that absolutely stinks, and a pack of 60 is only $21.90– that's 37 cents a sticker!

Can't stop raving about this Amazon find. (9Product Reviews)

The first night I used them I came home without a single bite on me, although my husband thought it was because there were no mozzies around, boy, was he wrong.

As we sat outside our villa, he finally noticed the mozzies appear and I told him I'd just whack a patch on the bottom of his shorts. Almost instantly they left him alone, you could see the little bugs flying close to his legs, but they didn't dare land. It was enough proof for him and me that they really did work.

They work just fine on the inside of your clothes, and even safe enough to stick straight to my skin. (9Product Reviews)

I slapped them on the inside of my T-shirt hems, on the bottom of maxi dresses, the hem of my shorts, on the end of sleeves and at one point on the back of a top near my hair to keep any mozzies away from me – and can safely say I came away with only one or two bites, which was a nice surprise.

For adults, it is recommended to use two to four patches, but I found one near my exposed arms and one near exposed legs was more than enough. While you should stick them on your clothes, I realised that when I did get a bite it was around my ankles, so I started to just stick them straight on the inside of my ankle after a couple of days and had no issues.

Oh, and the best part? You can also just whack them on your pillow if you want to stop any mozzies buzzing past at night, which definitely does work too.

They also come in a little resealable packet, making them so perfect for travel or just keeping in your handbag if you're the kind of person mozzies just can't get enough of.
