'We waited': Couple get matching tattoos after their divorce and explain the odd reason why in You, Me & My Ex
There's nothing like a permanent reminder of your ex-partner.
While most people regret the tattoos they have of their past lovers, April and Roy waited until after they were divorced to commemorate their relationship – with matching ink.
In fact, April didn't even tell her new husband about it.
"Better to ask for forgiveness than permission," she admitted.

In Season 1 of You, Me & My Ex – which you can stream for free now on 9Now – April, 39, and Roy, 39, explain why they're not like other ex-spouses.

"There are times where it almost feels like we're not really divorced," confessed April. "That we're still kind of married... minus the sexual relationship."
The pair still travel together, stay in the same hotel rooms together, share two bank accounts and now, are about to get matching tattoos.

April and her ex-husband Roy share a 14-year-old son. They also raised two children together from April's first marriage.
"We're getting matching tattoos of the coordinates of the place that our son was born," April explained.
"Why did we wait until we were divorced to do this?" April asked her ex-husband.
"Because when we were married, you wouldn't get tattoos... must be that new guy you've got," replied Roy.

They kept it as a surprise from their son, but older daughter Hayli, 24, definitely found it strange.
"My immediate thought was, well, that's a little weird," she said.
But she admitted, Roy would do anything for her mother, and secretly "hoped for the longest time" that they would get back together.
"You would always [be] like, fingers crossed," she told cameras.

With the exes now officially inked and linked, there was still one glaring elephant in the tattoo studio.

"The only thing is I haven't told my husband John about any of this," confessed April.
