This unique headband promises perfect hair, according to TikTok
Headbands can be a challenging accessory to work with. They either work perfectly or not at all.
For me, they bring back primary school memories of thick, bottle-green elastic bands that squeezed my head in and flattened my hair entirely leaving an unflattering bump at the base of my skull. Until recently, I believed the only person who could really pull them off was Gossip Girl's Blair Waldorf. However, a recent TikTok trend is changing my mind.
Zazzy Bandz Headband Two Pack
Perfected by TikToker @sophiacuerquis, who goes by Pia, the headband in question (above) replicates the look of wearing glasses on top of your head – as though you've pushed them up off your face for safe storage but achieved a perfect look in the process.
Officially called the Zazzy Bandz Headband, it's a square headband with wide corners that create space for your hair to sit voluminously around your face, rather than flattening it against your skull, all without your hair being in your face.
While @sophiacuerquis' video has racked up 2.5 million views, she's not the only one sharing her love for the cult hair accessory – @stephanie26m, has also clocked plenty of views spruiking the headband.
Zazzy Bandz have a patented design and are made in the USA, but you can get them shipped to Australia easily. They've been made in two fits, a medium and a relaxed frame, so you can choose which will best fit your head shape and your hair. If you have thick, voluminous hair, you might need a little more room. They're also lightweight in their structure, so they don't sit heavy or uncomfortably on your head.
You can also grab them in a simple plastic design, or in a hand-wrapped style that has a softer look to it. The feet of the headband are designed to curve around the ear, but in such a way that leaves space for the wearer to also wear a pair of glasses (the way they're designed, rather than on top of your head – this inspiration for this new headband).
While the Zazzy Bandz headbands seem like a fail-safe fashion accessory, it's worth noting that a lot of the women wearing them on TikTok have quite thick and curly hair.
Prices vary among the different headband styles, but you can currently grab two for $54.85 with free international delivery. The wrapped style is slightly pricier, costing a little bit more plus shipping for one headband.
But for such a game-changing accessory, we'd say it's worth the money!
